 Brian Parra is the Director of Communications and Membership for Atheists United. His duties include website administration, editing Rational Alternative, the monthly newsletter for Atheists United, administrating the AU membership database and AU's membership retention program. He leads workshops on organizing groups of atheists and welcome orientations for atheists new to the organization. Brian also founded and organizes the Ventura Chapter of Atheists United.He is an information technology consultant by trade and came to Atheists United after working for California State University Channel Islands for 7 years. He has a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in history from California State University Northridge. Brian was a partner in a successful music promotion business and independant record label in Ventura County for many years putting on all ages music productions and then moved into promoting music at restaurants and bars. He also has been known to host karaoke and sing when the mood takes him. Brian lives in Oxnard, CA with his wife and three kids, four frogs and a dog. Brian was a volunteer camp counselor at Camp Quest West in July, 2009. He owns an awesome sombrero. http://brianparra.com |
