Atheists United stands with the rest of the country in denouncing the violence that occurred in Charlottesville Virginia at the hands of white supremacists. We are angered at the murder of Heather Heyer and the brutality inflicted on others who were beaten for speaking out against hatred and bigotry. We acknowledge and take a special note of the the historical connection between alt-right hate groups like Ku Klux Klan and Christianity, but we also know that the great majority of religious believers of all sects are united with us in their grief and anger at what happened. Atheists United stands with those who fight against bigotry in all its manifestations.
President, Atheists United
