This Sunday it’s Finders-Keepers! Atheists United supports the community by sponsoring highway cleanups, one of which is the 10 freeway in West Los Angeles between National and LaBrea. Take a photo of what you find and make up a story about it. We want to know! Have fun and meet at 9 am sharp at the Park and Ride lot across from the Mobile Gas Station behind the black construction fence. Look for a red SUV: Toyota 4Runner so we’ll take only one car onto the freeway. Be sure to RSVP on MeetUp.Com just in case there is a last minute change–if you RSVP we can contact you quickly. Lost? Call Steve at (310) 686-8862 Atheists United supports the community by sponsoring the highway cleanup of the 10 freeway in West Los Angeles. Please help keep Los Angeles clean and join us in the cleanup effort!
NEW LOCATION: The stretch of freeway for this event is located on the 10 freeway between National and La Brea.
What to wear
Sturdy shoes, long pants, and sunscreen. Dress in layers because it can start out cold and warm up during the morning. We’ll provide bags, gloves and grabbers so you won’t have to bend over to pick up trash.
Lunch/Dinner or Refreshments
We’ll pick a place for refreshments after the cleanup but attendance to this is not required. It’s a time to decompress while enjoying each other’s company
The highway clean up will take about 2 hours and then there’s time for refreshments afterwards.
How to find us
We’ll be at the Park and Ride lot (see map). Call Steve if you can’t find the group 310-686-8862.
We only have enough equipment for a few people so we have to limit participation. Please remember to change your RSVP to “no” if you can’t make it so anyone on the waiting list will be able to join us. Also especially important if you are the only other volunteer signed up, because we can’t do the cleanup with only one person.
Please post any questions you have in the comments and I’ll update the event with more details.
