Atheists United supports Freethought Toastmasters. They meet every 2nd and 4th Saturday at Heretic House from 2 to 4 pm. This is a small group looking to expand. Toastmasters is a learning experience not only in public speaking but in team work and motivational techniques. Guests are always welcome.
However, this is an open invitation especially to all atheists. As an atheist you may be asked why you are a non-believer, and as important as the content of your answer, is how well your answer is received. Toastmasters is a way in which we can develop our speaking skills and provide both useful information and philosophical ideas in a clear, concise, and methodical way. Avoid arguments. Avoid preaching. Learn THE ART of both conversation and debate. Practice with others that have the same philosophies. That’s what the meetings are all about.
There is a charge for joining Toastmasters which is encouraged after you’ve attended a couple of meetings and decide that Toastmasters is a valuable tool. But the first few meetings are at no charge. Hope to meet you!
