Meet with other like-minded, free-thinking, curious Latinos and Hispanics in the San Gabriel Valley who self -identify as atheist, agnostic, humanist or just open-minded. This is a meetup for those of us interested in critically discussing cultural and religious issues respectfully.
We are interested in exceptional secular education, critical thinking, separation of church and state, Latino/Hispanic issues and current events especially integration, community outreach, and of course religious topics. This group is open to anyone–even “gringos”–regardless of race, ethnicity, eye color, height, weight, sexual orientation, political affiliation or religious/non-religious leanings. All are welcome.
The purpose of this event is to get to get to know the Secular Latino community of the SGV. I believe there are more of us out there who might be thinking they are alone. The truth is, you are not alone. If you are a Secular Latino who has not connected with other Secular Latinos in the SGV, this is your opportunity!
This group is sponsored by Atheists United, an organization devoted to building a community of like-minded, freethinking individuals. We meet on the second Sunday each month at 10 am at the Starbucks on Valley–near I-10 and Santa Anita Street. We’ll be on the patio, just left of the entrance.
