Jonathan L. Friedmann, Ph.D., is a community leader of Adat Chaverim—Congregation for Humanistic Judaism, Los Angeles. He is also director of the Jewish Museum of the American West, associate dean of the master of Jewish studies program at the Academy for Jewish Religion California, and the author or editor of twenty-five books on music, history, biblical criticism, and the sociology of religion.
