Los Angeles — Atheists United today announced its newest community program designed to support those transitioning away from religion; a Los Angeles peer support chapter of Recovering From Religion (RfR).

“Recovering From Religion is one of the most important organizations in the atheist movement today and we’re thrilled to bring their peer support groups to Southern California,” said Evan Clark, Executive Director of Atheists United. “Millions of secular Americans struggle with religious trauma and need safe spaces to discuss their transition away from or questioning of religion. This program provides that.”

RfR’s mission is to offer hope, healing, and support to those struggling with issues of doubt and nonbelief. Their two main programs include a network of peer support groups and professional services through The Secular Therapy Project.

Join Los Angeles’ Recovering From Religion group meetings on the 1st and 3rd Tusday of each month.
