Message from American Atheists: VOTE!
ATHEISTS UNITED IS AN AFFILIATE OF AMERICAN ATHEISTS AND SHARES THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE:
Dear American Atheists Supporters,
This week, the Supreme Court delivered a decision on mail-in voting that could disqualify countless ballots in the 2020 election.
According to the controversial ruling, if a Wisconsin ballot is postmarked before Election Day but arrives afterwards due to post office delays, that ballot may not be counted.
This ruling raises the specter that the Supreme Court could invalidate ballots in other states that arrive after Election Day, especially with Amy Coney Barrett now on the bench.
Election experts agree: if you haven't returned your ballot yet, do NOT vote by mail.
Make sure your vote counts. Either drop off your ballot at your local board of elections office or vote in person.
Then join other atheists and get out and vote!
You have every reason to vote this year. With nonreligious Americans going from 15% to 28% of the American electorate between 2008 and 2019, we have the power to sway elections in 2020.
But the Atheist Vote only has power if your vote counts.
Whether you are voting locally, at the state level, or nationally, your vote matters. Other atheists across the country are depending upon you to make sure you vote—and that your vote counts.
Sincerely,
Nick Fish
