What we told NPR about atheist community needs
We’re grateful to have recently shared our ideas about atheist community building on San Francisco's NPR affiliate, KQED.
Atheists come together partly because of our values like freethought and secular government, and partly because — as a social/political minority group — we're shaped by common experiences. We want to be around people who get it!
We need spaces to take our families where we know people share our values. Places where we can build the social connections that make up the fabric of our lives.
We’ve been creating those spaces, and people have been showing up for them in a big way. (Check out the photos from our recent Karaoke Party and Roaring Twenties Party, attended by about 70 people altogether!)
